Brechin City have appointed Michael Paton as player-manager on a two and half year contract.

The midfielder replaces Mark Wilson who was sacked after failing to win game in 2020.

The 31-year-old told the club it's one that's always been close to his heart.

"It gave me my first experience of senior football and helped launch my professional career." he said.

"I am absolutely delighted to now have the opportunity to begin my managerial career with such a fantastic club and I am determined to repay my debt to the club.

"I will give everything I can to help us move forward and deliver a team we can all be proud of”.
