BREAKING: All trains suspended in Edinburgh due to tresspass incident

All trains out of Edinburgh have been suspended due an on-going incident on the tracks.

Emergency services and Network Rail staff are on the scene dealing with what they’re calling a trespass situation.

All cross border routes are affected as well as Scotrail services.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We’re currently assisting the emergency services while they deal with a trespass incident at Edinburgh Waverley station. All trains have been brought to a stop for safety reasons.

"We’re sorry for the disruption to passengers and are urging people to check National Rail Enquiries for the latest information while the incident is ongoing.”

ScotRail Update

ScotRail Customer Operations Director, Phil Campbell, said: “A number of ScotRail services to and from Edinburgh Waverley have experienced delays and alterations this afternoon while the emergency services attend an incident near the station.

“We’re sorry to customers who have experience disruption to their journey as a result of this incident. Anyone delayed by 30 minutes or more is entitled to claim compensation through our Delay Repay Guarantee on the ScotRail website or mobile app.”

Train services from Aberdeen, Helensburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Stirling and Glenrothes will be terminated at various alternate stations, according to updates on the operator's social media.

Tram services in the city will accept rail tickets.
