A Scottish women's telling Tay 2 about scenes of panic on board a BA plane when one of David Cameron's protection officers is reported to have left his gun and both their passports in a toilet.

Robyn Carlisle was on the BA flight from America on Monday night and told Ewen Cameron in the Morning how the drama unfolded.

She told the programme: “The guy who found the gun had come out of the toilet but started making such a big scene about it. Basically he came into the cabin and started shouting about how it wasn’t his fault that we were all late.

“He tried to bring the gun out to speak to cabin crew to say he’d found a gun in the toilet. Apparently the crew panicked because they thought he was the one with the gun.

“Everybody was panicking that there was a gun on board and no one knew who it belonged to, then the guy got even more dramatic saying it was David Cameron’s security guards'.

“Everyone was in mass panic because we didn’t really know what was going on even though this guy was saying ‘it was David Cameron, that’s his security guard, he’s got a gun’.

“The crew did try to say it was a normal situation and there are armed officers on flights. We did get going a few hours later but as you can imagine it was a very tense flight the whole way.

“I’m a very nervous flyer so as soon as a gun was mentioned there was panic, not just from myself but everyone in the cabin.

“I think the guy who found the gun was really upset becuase he thought everyone would think it was his gun, so because of his panic that got everyone else in the cabin more panicked as well.”

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "We are aware of the incident on a flight into the UK on February 3 and the officer involved has since been removed from operational duties.

We are taking this matter extremely seriously and an internal investigation is taking place.''

Mr Cameron, as a former prime minister, is entitled to continued security provided by the Met's Specialist Protection unit.
