Biker killed in three vehicle crash on A9 named

A biker who died following a three vehicle crash on the A9 on Sunday has been named.

63-year-old Andrew MacPherson from Cambridgeshire was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident, three miles north of the B847, near the Calveen Road junction.

A white Hyundai Ioniq car and two motorcycles, a maroon and a blue Harley Davidson were all involved in the crash around 1.30pm.

The passengers in the car were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and a 50-year-old woman was arrested and charged.

The road was closed for around seven hours.

Sergeant Willie Strachan from Road Policing said: “Our thoughts very much remain with the family and friends of Mr MacPherson at this difficult time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.”
