Biker fights for life after Angus smash with lorry

Police are appealing for witnesses with 26-year-old man critical

A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a smash with a lorry in Angus this morning.

The serious crash happened on the B9113 at the Pitkennedy crossroads near Forfar around 11.25 and involved a Kawaski motorbike and a Renault HGV.

Emergency services raced to the scene, and the 26-year-old motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where hospital staff describe his condition as critical.

The 47-year-old male driver of the lorry did not require hospital treatment.

Sergeant Gordon Dickson, from Tayside Divisional Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has information that may assist our investigation to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone driving on this road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam to get in touch.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference number 1079 of 24 July.”
