The BiFab Yards in Methil and on the Isle of Lewis have been saved from closure.
Two out of the three sites are being bought by a company called InfraStrata which will rebrand them under the famous Harland and Wolff name.
Harland and Wolff also has two existing sites in Belfast and Appledore.
The deal is worth ÂŁ850,000 pounds, but it does not include a third site in Burntisland.
The company will also be taking on the 29 staff.
The Burntisland Fabrication Ltd. steelyards, which was part owned by the Scottish Government and a Canadian firm, went into administration at the end of last year after failing to secure a lucrative contract to build platforms for offshore wind turbines.
