Dundee councillor Fraser Macpherson is backing our Take The Time campaign.
The West End Lib Dem representative is also calling on Dundee City Council and its partners to show momentum in tackling loneliness in Dundee, following the launch of a similar initiative in Glasgow.
The Campaign to End Loneliness launched in the city and a Loneliness Summit was held last month.
Councillor Macpherson said: "I'm very impressed with the fact Tay News has so much promoted the actions we can take to try to tackle loneliness.
"I think if everyone spent a little time helping each other, it would go a long way.
“There are a significant number of people who would benefit from more interaction and people popping their head around the door to find out how they're doing
"There is much going on in terms of services to assist the issue of loneliness across the city, but the idea of a summit to discuss the co-ordination of services and pull the issue together has much merit.
“We regularly have Dundee Partnership Forums bringing together many organisations across Dundee - statutory and third sector - and I have suggested to the council’s Community Planning Manager that a future Dundee Partnership Forum should focus on co-ordinating efforts to tackle loneliness and the co-ordination of services to help people in our city suffering from loneliness.”

Dundee City Council’s Community Planning Manager has advised Cllr Macpherson of the efforts being made to tackle the issue in Dundee saying: “Loneliness is an important element of much of the work we are doing in relation to poor mental wellbeing across the partnership.
"The new City and Council Plans make explicit and ambitious commitments to improve mental wellbeing."
