Aussie Nurse set to travel 10,000 miles to see Taylor Swift in Edinburgh
29 year old Ellie Peach says she's an "OG Fan"
With just a week to go until tens of thousands of Swifties descend on the capital, people are scrambling for last minute tickets and a chance to catch the Eras tour in Scotland. One self confessed super-fan is travelling 10,000 miles from Australia at a cost of $3.5 thousand to be part of the crowd at Murrayfield next week.
29 year old Ellie Peach is a Nurse in Sydney, she said the recent release of 'The Tortured Poets Department' caused her to start looking for a way to to see the show:
"It started off as a little bit of a pipe dream I'd say, cos I am a full time shift worker, so I have a roster and you can imagine it's quite rigid with nursing."
"When I saw that Taylor had put out this new set - The Tortured Poets Department - I've got a TikTok following, a nursing TikTok, and I said 'I can't believe that I'm missing out on this, if anyone has a spare ticket I'll go anywhere in the world'".
"I do want to get something clear - I'm an OG fan, I've been a fan since the beginning"
"I was semi joking, I was like, it's never going to happen ... and I actually had a nurse in Edinburgh who messaged me and she said 'look I've followed you for ages, I don't want to come across weird, but I'm going twice, first with my friends and the second time with my fiancé, he really doesn't want to go, it's yours'."
Ellie says she's making good on a promise she made to herself when she was a struggling nursing student:
"I know that it might come across selfish, because I've already seen her in Sydney and I'm going again. But I do want to get something clear - I'm an OG fan, I've been a fan since the beginning, I've been to every single one of her concerts"
"Last time she came to Sydney I was a new nursing student ... and I made a vow that day, I said next time this woman comes to Sydney I'm going to every single one of her shows because I'll be a full time nurse and I'll be able to afford it."
Taylor Swift is appearing at Murrayfield on the 7th, 8th and 9th of June.
