Attempted robbery in Dundee

Detectives in Dundee are searching for a man who tried to rob a shop in the city.

St Giles News Plus was targeted at around 7.45am on Saturday, August 20, when a man with a weapon demanded money.

The suspect, said to be in his mid 20’s and around 5 foot 9, left empty handed and the shop assistant was not injured.

A police spokesman said: “Police are looking to trace a man in connection with the incident.

“He's described as: white, mid twenties in age, approximately 5'9 in height, slim build, wearing a large black jacket, dark coloured dress trousers and dark dress shoes. The man has a local/Dundee accent.

“Police believe the man may have been in the vicinity of the Co-op on St Boswells Terrace a short time before the alleged incident.”
