Can you help police in Perth trace witnesses to a hit and run that left a pensioner dead?

Officers are continuing to investigate the death of Doreen Williams, 80, who sadly died as a result of a road traffic collision on the A9 southbound between Inveralmond and Broxden at Perth at 2.15am on Sunday 4th November.

Detective Inspector Ray Birnie, the Senior Investigating Officer for the enquiry, said:

'Significant police resources remain deployed on this investigation.

'We know that Doreen was struck by a vehicle having been walking along the A9 road. We know that this vehicle did not stop. Doreen died as a result of the injuries she sustained from the impact.

'We believe the driver of the vehicle pictured in the CCTV footage can assist with our investigation and anyone who recognises it is asked to come forward. This vehicle is a white Ford Transit Custom van. It was marked with the logos and lettering for Arnold Clark Car and Van Rental. It had a sliding rear door on the nearside.

'We also know that this vehicle travelled south on the A9 between the roundabout at Inveralmond and the roundabout at Broxden about 2.15am on Sunday 4 November having travelled south on the A9 from the Dunkeld direction. Whilst we are following other lines of enquiry in order to find this vehicle, I would urge the driver, or anyone else with information, to come forward to us now.'

If anyone has witnessed this incident or has any information to pass, then please call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 672 of 4 November or speak to any police officer. To remain anonymous, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
