Appeal for woman who tried to stop Dundee shop robber to come forward

She tried to tackle the man as he threatened a shopkeeper on Court Street around 4.15pm yesterday

Police are urging a woman who tried to stop a man robbing a Dundee newsagents to come forward.

It happened on Court Street just around 4.15pm yesterday.

The woman attempted to tackle the suspect who was threatening the shopkeeper and demanding money.

He's described as 5ft 8in tall, slim build, wearing a beige jacket with a red hoodie underneath, blue trousers and black and white trainers.

Constable Andrew Findlay, of Maryfield Police Station, said: "Nobody was injured however we're appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact us.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to a man who was in the shop throughout the incident and a woman who attempted to tackle the suspect before he threw the shelf."
