An investigation is underway following an assault in the McDonald's restaurant at Ethiebeaton in Monifieth.

Two 16-year-old boys were approached by a man who had initially been shouting loudly and singing football songs. He had words with the pair before striking one of them in the face.

The teenager was not injured in the attack.

The person responsible then left the restaurant and got into a grey or silver car, which Police said is possibly a taxi or private hire car.

Officers said they are keen to trace a man in his late 50s, around 5 ft 7 tall, with short grey hair. He was wearing a green and white Celtic shirt, khaki jacket, dark trousers and brown round-lensed glasses.
