Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash closed part of the A90 near Dundee for more than 10 hours on Monday morning.

It happened on the Dundee to Perth Road near to Bullionfield Garage, Invergowrie in the early hours of the morning, involving a black BMW and a silver Skoda.

A 28-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man are in Ninewells with serious injuries after the two-car crash just after 1am.

Emergency services closed the road for 10 hours while they carried out a full collision investigation, with the road re-opening just after 11am.

Sergeant Brian McEwen, of Tayside Road Policing Unit, said: “This was a serious crash that occurred in the early hours of the morning when the roads were relatively quiet."

"However, I am appealing for anyone who may have seen either car prior to the crash or the crash itself to get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch with officers.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0284 of 13 June.
