An Angus man is telling Tay News of his disgust after his elderly parents' business was raided whilst they were self-isolating at home.
Around £10,000 worth of goods were stolen from Letham Craft Shop in Forfar sometime between Saturday and Thursday.
The store was targeted after closing last Saturday due to the lockdown ordered by the UK and Scottish Government.
The owners of the business are in their 80's and self isolating at the time of the attack.
Their son, Bill Sturrock, said: "We reckon somewhere around £10,000 has been taken.
"To break into a business at this time, to take advantage of the current situation is pretty despicable."
Expensive dolls, tools, and car model kits were taken.
A Police Spokesperson said: "sic Believed to have happened between Sat 21 and Thurs 26 March 2020.
"Enquiries are at a very early stage but it reported that goods estimated to be worth a five figure sum has been stolen."
All non-essential businesses have been told to close as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
It's part of the ongoing lockdown to try flatten the curve and slow down the spread of COVID-19 in the UK.
In Scotland, police now have the power to fine and force closure of non-essential businesses that do not adhere to these rules.
