A care home in Angus was evacuated last night after emergency services were called to reports of a gas leak last.
Fire, police and ambulance crews, along with a hazmat unit, were called to the South Grange Care Home around 2.15pm today.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also says it was made aware of an issue with the water system at the site off Grange Road.
Emergency services were on the scene monitoring for gas.
The SFRS says residents were evacuated but that everyone is safe.
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: "We were alerted at 2.14pm on Tuesday, 18 February to reports of a smell of gas at a care facility near Dundee.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the city's Grange Road, where firefighters are working with partners to ensure the area is safe."
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We were asked to attend the centre to investigate reports of a problem with water quality.
“There are no issues with the supply entering the property and it would appear to be a private matter contained within the building.”
A spokesperson for Barchester Healthcare said: "We can confirm that all residents and staff are safe.
"Their wellbeing is our utmost priority.
"Our first area of focus is to ensure continuing care for all our residents and we are also investigating the cause.
"We are working closely with the authorities and taking expert advice on this complex and emerging situation."
They added: "We are doing our best to keep family members updated as events happen.
"Any statements regarding the source are uncorroborated at this stage as the cause is being investigated."
