Andy Murray to face Grigor Dimitrov in China Open final

World number two Andy Murray recovered from a slow start to surge into the final of the China Open with victory over Spain's David Ferrer on Saturday.

Murray was a break down in the opening set before hitting back to win the next five games in a row on his way to a 6-2 6-3 win in exactly 90 minutes in Beijing.

The 29-year-old will face Grigor Dimitrov in Sunday's final after Milos Raonic was unable to start their semi-final due to an ankle injury.

Ferrer, who lost to Murray in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January, broke for a 2-1 lead in the first set but was immediately broken back to love.

Consecutive double faults then gave Murray three more break points in the sixth game and, although Ferrer saved two, a backhand which drifted over the baseline gave Murray a 4-2 lead.

Another break of serve saw Murray take the opening set after 48 minutes and the double Olympic champion raced into a 3-1 lead in the second before surprisingly losing his serve.

However, that proved to be a momentary lapse in concentration and Murray immediately broke Ferrer's serve once more before wrapping up a seventh straight win against the 34-year-old.

Nick Kyrgios will face David Goffin in the final of the Rakuten Japan Open after the pair enjoyed semi-final wins over Gael Monfils and Marin Cilic respectively.

Kyrgios beat second seed Monfils 6-4 6-4, while Goffin defeated former US Open champion Cilic 7-5 6-4.

It was an unbelievable match, we both played very well,'' Kyrgios said. The crowd loved it and we both had a lot of fun out there.

Not many people on tour can hit the type of shots Gael can. He's an unbelievable entertainer and athlete. We play different games. I rely on my serve more, but I want to work to become as athletic as he is and also be an entertainer like him.''

Cilic, who served for the opening set at 5-3 but lost the next four games, said: I had a lot of opportunities, being a break up and serving for the first set.

I had some small opportunities after that but I didn't execute well. It was a little bit disappointing. The ball wasn't obeying me today.''
