A Kirkintilloch woman is telling us she feels sick with worry about her two-year-old son who is on the organ donor waiting list for the second time after contracting sepsis.

Jade Louise had Zachary at just 28 weeks and he was born with a range of health complications leading to a liver transplant.

She told Tay FM: "He was initially put on the list for a liver transplant at King's College Hospital in London and waited over a year.

"He finally received a liver last year from an adult donor and we thought this was the life saving operation he needed."

Zachary later contracted sepsis and doctors say he can now only be matched with another child because he weighs just 9 kilograms.

He's waiting for another liver and a bowel transplant.

Jade added: "I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I was told he might not pull through and the fact he did is a miracle.

"This has totally taken over our lives, we are constantly on standby waiting to go to London and ready for the phone to ring to tell us this is the second chance at life for our son.

"I would like to urge any parents listening to have the conversation about organ donation, we never thought we would be in this scenario and it just shows it can happen to anyone."
