Overnight roadworks will start this weekend on the A9 in the Perthshire.

The maintenance, which is costing £125,000, between the Broxden and Inveralmond Roundabouts gets underway on the evening of Sunday 14th June.

Social distancing measures are in place for workers – with the work scheduled for five nights between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

The full list of overnight road closures can be found below:

• A9 between Broxden Roundabout and A85 Crieff Road, northbound – Sunday 14

• A9 between A85 Crieff Road and Inveralmond Roundabout, northbound – Monday 15 June

• A9 Inveralmond Roundabout from Ruthvenfield Road / A9 between Inveralmond Roundabout and the A85 Crieff Road, southbound – Tuesday 16 June

• A9 between Inveralmond Roundabout and A85 Crieff Road, southbound – Wednesday 17 June

• A9 between A85 Crieff Road and Broxden Roundabout, southbound – Thursday 18 June

A number of diversions will be in place and the work is expected to be completed on Friday 19th June.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “At this difficult time the safety of our employees and our supply chain remains a top priority, and all personnel will be subject to strict physical distancing protocols in line with Scottish Government guidance to ensure they are kept safe.

“These improvement works on the A9 between Broxden Roundabout to Inveralmond Round have been prioritised and identified as an essential project to ensure that the A9 remains safe and reliable for key workers, deliveries and those making essential journeys.

“For safety sections of the road has to be closed while we complete the work, however we’ve arranged the project to take place overnight to help minimise disruption.”
