8 Year Old Finds Discarded Needles In Arbroath Flats

Residents in Arbroath have hit out after an 8 year old boy found discarded needles in the close of their flats

An Arbroath grandmother's telling Tay News of her horror, after discarded needles and drugs were found in her close by an eight-year-old boy. Police were called to Fraser Path on Sunday evening, it's since been cleaned up by Angus Council. Sarah Devlin's been speaking to Nicola Dowds for Tay News:

Angus Council has issued the following advice in response to the find:

"To report a syringe which has been discarded outside call ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778 giving its location.

We will collect and dispose of the syringe as soon as possible within working hours. Out of hours and at the week-end please contact Police Scotland on 101.

Do not:

  • touch the syringe - separate the needle from the syringe - put the cap back on the needle - hide the syringe - put the syringe in a litter bin."
