Strictly's Jody Cundy reveals he could be forced to MISS this weekend's show
He's paired with Jowita Przystal on the show
Movie Week has arrived on Strictly Come Dancing, but as this year's celebrities put the finishing touches to their routines ahead of Saturday night's live show, it's still touch and go whether one contestant will be able to perform.
Appearing on spin-off show It Takes Two on Thursday (5th October) night, Paralympian Jody Cundy revealed he still doesn't know if he will be able to perform after picking up a nasty infection in his amputated leg, meaning he is unable to wear his prosthetic.
Speaking to hosts Fleur East and Janette Manrara, 44-year-old Jody explained: "I got home on Tuesday night after rehearsals, took my leg off, and thought, 'That's quite sore,' but didn't think too much of it, but cleaned it, bathed it, made sure it was all ok.
"But then I got up about four o'clock in the morning, and it was warm, swollen.
"And I was like, 'That's getting infected, I need to see somebody about it'."
Although doctors gave him antibiotics, Jody went on to reveal due to swelling he is unable to attach his prosthetic, meaning he is currently unable to perform.
He added: "It is healing, and it is getting better, but at the moment I'm still not able to get my leg on."
Taking to Instagram after his appearance on the show, he said: 'Thank you so much for all your lovely messages and support. Staying positive is the key and we really hope we can perform for you guys this routine cause it means a lot to us 🩵 sending lots of love ! Team wheels & heels 🚲👠'. (sic)
Jody and his professional partner Jowita Przystal have so far took part in two dances this series. In Week One, Jody and Jowita performed the Quickstep, before taking on the Paso Doble last week.
Jody found himself 11th on the leaderboard in Week One, dropping to 14th in Week Two, which saw Les Dennis become the first celeb to be eliminated.
