Sophie Gradon's parents release heartbreaking statement about her shock death
She died at the age of 32
Tragic news broke last week that Love Island 2016 star Sophie Gradon had sadly died at the age of just 32, with her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong confirming the sad news on social media. Her parents, Colin and Deborah Gradon, have now released a heartbreaking statement about their daughter's death.
Speaking to the Press Association, they said in a statement, "Our hearts are broken. We wish to say our goodbyes to Sophie in private so we ask that you respect our family's privacy during this arduous time."
News of Sophie's death was first announced last Thursday (21st June) by her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong. He shared a photo of the pair to his Facebook page, writing the words, 'I will never forget that smile I love you so so much baby your my world forever ever and always ❤️❤️' sic
Although no further details have been revealed, A Northumbria Police spokesperson said at the time, “At about 8.27pm yesterday (June 20) police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner."

Sophie was a popular Islander when she appeared on the second series of Love Island back in 2016. She originally coupled up with Tom Powell on the show, before making Love Island history when she developed feelings for Katie Salmon.
Sophie appeared on the show alongside the likes of Cara de la Hoyde, Nathan Massey, Olivia Buckland, Alex Bowen, Terry Walsh, Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott.
