Fans of The X Factor are desperate to find out who is taking the place of Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh on this year's panel. After the two were announced to have left the show, rumours began circulating that former Take That singer Robbie Williams could be replacing Louis.

It was then revealed that his wife, Ayda Field, could be joining him on the panel in what would be the first ever husband and wife judging duo on the show.

Whilst Robbie, Ayda nor show bosses had confirmed the deal, Robbie has now spoken out on This Morning about the rumours, revealing that nothing has been set in stone yet.

He told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, "If there is an X Factor in my future, whether it be this year or next year or never, I’m scared for my own safety and health but not because of the people out there, the public, Twitter or Instagram - my wife."

He added, "She is an A+ student from Beverly Hills, incredibly square, she is like, 'Why would you do that?'"

Robbie became very coy about the situation, saying, "She is supposed to be doing it with me. I have read those reports too. I would say... as it happens, people say that every year and we say 'no comment'. Yeah, there is a lot of me that would love to do it too."

Louis Walsh announced his departure from the show after 13 years, saying in a statement, "I've had a fantastic 13 years on The X Factor but the show needs a change and I'm ready to leave."
