Love Island fans spot huge hint that the Twitter challenge could RETURN
Fans have found a big clue!
Last updated 26th Jun 2023
Love Island fans have spotted a huge clue which suggests that the hit ITV2 dating show is bringing the popular Twitter challenge back. The challenge, which had previously been named Twitter Bingo, Online Bingo and Online Buzz, hasn't featured on Love Island since 2019.
The game involved showing the Islanders a series of tweets that viewers had posted about the show but with their names blocked out, meaning they had to guess who the tweet was written about.
Now, one eagle-eyed fans have spotted a hint which could suggest that the challenge is making a highly-anticipated return to the show. One Twitter user noticed that the show's official Twitter account has added a disclaimer to its bio, which says: '#LoveIsland and @LoveIsland tweets and replies may be used on social, incl your name and/or Twitter handle.'
Posting a screenshot of the disclaimer, the fan added: 'So it looks like the ICONIC Love Island Twitter Challenge could FINALLY be making it's return as Love Island have updated their Twitter Bio.
'This is EXACTLY what this season needed, this challenge is going to cause CHAOS.'
Several fans also took to the social media platform to express their desire for the Twitter challenge to make a comeback. One person said: 'They really need to bring back the Twitter challenge.' Someone else added: 'I said it before and I'll say it again this season cast is so messy it's time they bring back the twitter challenge.' (sic)
Another viewer wrote: 'This is the cast that needs the Twitter challenge back!!'
As reported by OK! Magazine, the Twitter challenge was last shown in 2019 under the name Online Buzz, when it was met with allegations of faking tweets. In the game, Molly-Mae Hague was accused of coupling up with Tommy Fury to increase her chance of winning the show's £50,000 cash prize.
The tweet used in the game referred to her as 'Money-Mae', but it could not be found when fans searched for it - meaning it could have potentially been deleted instead of being made up.
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
