Love Island: Is this why we don't see the cast eating dinner? 👀
Interesting...
If you're as obsessed with Love Island as us, you'll probably realise that we rarely see the Islanders eat breakfast and lunch and we never see them having dinner unless they're on a date.
We've been racking our brains trying to figure out why we never see them eating their tea- are they too camera shy? Do they go out to eat? Do they even eat?
Well, now we know the answer - they do eat but they have their meals separately.
Former Islander Connagh Howard popped in for a chat with Closer and he confessed that the one thing that surprised him in the villa was that the boys and girls are separated when they eat.
He said, "I suppose the only thing I thought was a bit weird was that at dinner time the boys and girls were separated."
Connor Durman also told the publication, "For me it was not knowing the time.
"I thought you'd be able to know the time but we weren't allowed."
Despite rarely seeing the Islanders eat, OG Connor confessed that his favourite meal was a Greek dish.
"My favourite meal was this Greek tapas one day for the lunch and I absolutely loved it. The food was lovely out there."
Check out all of the Love Island rules below:
No getting drunk
According to 2017 contestant Kem Cetinay, contestants are allowed one small glass of wine or beer a night with dinner.
Being drunk's an absolute no-no, so sex while intoxicated is obviously against the rules too.
No masturbating
No solo sex acts are allowed in the villa, though obviously allowed to get jiggy with their partner.
No nudity
Contestants cannot be naked in front of other islanders, since the villa is technically a public space.
No books, phones or magazines
The islanders are given snazzy phones from their sponsor, Samsung (what else would they get their texts on?); but anyone sneaking their own mobile phone into the villa would risk being removed.
Same goes for books and magazines, too.
No inappropriate language or behaviour
This could cover homophobic, racist or aggressive language and is quite the broad rule. Inappropriate behaviour is again at producers' discretion, and would include violence and sexual harassment.
No discriminating against staff
Any Islanders who are rude to crew could run the risk of being booted off the show, and contestants must NOT take their mic packs off unless instructed to.
Follow the rule book
Simple. Contestants must obey the rule book they're provided with; which includes information on safe sex, consent and how to know if you're following the guidelines.
Connagh's confession comes after former Islander Alexandra Cane revealed why we never see them eat food.
"We do have to be monitored on what we eat just to make sure that everyone in the house is eating sufficient amounts. So nobody is going to get ill. Lunch and dinner were not shown because we had to eat certain amounts."
