Last night pop star Katy Perry was surprised by her parents on American Idol, the show that she is currently a judge on. Speaking to the show's host Ryan Seacrest, Mary and Keith Hudson were asked about their daughter's judging on the show and they didn't hold back!
"This is the first time you have seen her judge with the contestants on stage," Ryan said. "What is it like to watch they all come together?"
Mary then joked, "She's still the bird, she's still mouthy," but when Katy's dad is asked where she gets "being mouthy" from, Katy pipes up "you guys!"
However, Mary explains it's because she's the middle child. "They always want the most attention!"
But Katy had a great comeback shouting, "I feel like it's turned out OK for them!" Receiving an applause from the studio audience.

Although they joked, this isn't the first time Katy and her parents haven't seen eye-to-eye. Her parents, who are both Pentecostal pastors, have said in the past that they receive a lot of criticism from their religious community about Katy's music. However, Katy's mum has also said she still believes in unconditional love.
As well as having countless hits, Katy Perry has taken on the role as a judge on American Idol this year, having appeared as a guest judge previously. This series of American Idol has been quite eventful with the addition of Katy.
Last month she kissed one of the show's contestants after he revealed he had never been kissed. On hearing this Katy called Benjamin over to the desk where she leaned over and gestured for him to give her a kiss on the cheek. Benjamin leaned over to give her a peck on the cheek, but the pop star then complained, "You didn't even make the smooch sound!"
When he went in for another kiss on the cheek Katy quickly turned her head! Embarrassed, Benjamin found himself kissing the pop star on the lips, so shocked by what had happened he fell on the floor with his guitar.
Katy didn't seem too embarrassed by what had just happened though. After falling over and 'trying' to get up, she 'styled' her way out of the moment, ending up on her knees being helped up by fellow judge Luke Bryan.
