Jonnie Irwin delights fans as he shares 'good news' about return to TV
Jonnie will be back on our screens
Jonnie Irwin has delighted fans by confirming that he is making a return to our TV screens this week. The 49-year-old A Place in the Sun host has sadly been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has shared updates on his life on his Instagram page.
In a post shared on Sunday (24th September), Jonnie revealed that he will be back on our televisions in a brand-new episode of Escape to the Country, which will air on BBC One at 3pm on Monday (25th September).
Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from filming, Jonnie gave fans a hint of what they can expect from the show. Captioning the images, he wrote: 'Good news to start the week, there's a brand new episode of @escape_country airing tomorrow on @bbcone at 3 pm and it's one of mine! I head down to Somerset and look at some fantastic rural properties in some beautiful locations. Plus I also get to visit a cider farm - perks of the job. Hope you enjoy!'
Jonnie's post was met with messages of support from fans, who were excited to see him back on the show. One person said: 'This is great Jonnie. Will be tuning in', whilst someone else commented: 'How fantastic. You are looking sooo well. Can't wait to see you back on the telly.' (sic)
Another viewer wrote: 'Look forward to watching it...always enjoy your episodes the best.' Someone else commented: 'Lovely. My favourite show with my favourite presenter.'
Jonnie also made an appearance at A Place in the Sun's live exhibition in Birmingham on Saturday (23rd September), where he reunited with his co-star Jasmine Harman.
Sharing a photo with Jasmine to his Instagram page, Jonnie said: 'Reunited with this beaut for the day. Great show and so nice to meet all the viewers looking to make their dreams come true.'
Last November, dad-of-three Jonnie revealed that he had terminal cancer. Speaking to Hello! last year, Jonnie said: "It's got to the point now where it feels like I'm carrying a dirty secret - it's become a monkey on my back.
"I hope that by shaking that monkey off and talking to Hello!, I might inspire people who are living with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day; to help them see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying."
