ITV confirm Ant will join Dec to host I'm a Celebrity 2017
And all is well in the world again
Last updated 24th Aug 2017
After it was revealed that Ant McPartlin had checked into rehab over his 'substance abuse, prescription drugs, and drinking' issues, the nation and his TV other half Declan Donnelly were quick to offer well-wishes and show their support.
We were all also pretty terrified at the thought that a national institution would crumble before our very eyes, as speculation surfaced that Ant would not be well enough to host I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! at the end of the year.
Although Ant's rumoured replacements sounded pretty fab – there was talk of Holly Willoughby and even Ant & Dec's former SM:TV co-host Cat Deeley – no one can really compare to the dynamic duo, can they?
Even Dec previously said he wouldn't host the show with anyone else.
And now it looks as though he definitely won’t have to, as an ITV boss has basically confirmed Ant will be returning to the Jungle during an interview with The Radio Times.
When asked whether ITV would consider taking a break from I'm a Celebrity this year, Kevin Lygo responded: "How very dare you.
"Ant is doing really well and we're expecting him to return to I'm a Celebrity, so we won't be resting it."
