Hollyoaks: James Nightingale worries as his DEADLY secret is revealed
He teamed up with Grace Black and shot Mercedes McQueen
Viewers are well aware that James Nightingale is responsible for Mercedes McQueen’s near death experience but next week at Jesse Donovan’s funeral it becomes clear that someone knows his secret.
After he receives an anonymous note warning that his secret is out James is left studying the letter. It’s not long before Grace Black reveals she too has received a note – what will they do?
Elsewhere on a happier note James and John Paul McQueen decide to give their relationship another go – hopefully this time it will be plain sailing…
Jordan Price flirts with Leela Lomax and ends up grabbing the attention of Peri Lomax… Sid Sumners hides drugs at school – he’s unaware that PC Kiss is sweeping through everyone’s lockers.
Edward Hutchinson is worried when his son Tony Hutchison is full of optimism following a therapy session, Tony plans a date night with wife Diane Hutchinson and Romeo Quinn and Celeste Faroe continue their affair.
Hollyoaks spoilers: Monday 24 - Friday 28 February 2020
Following James and Marnie Nightingale's proposition last week, Romeo is fully on board with changing his surname to Nightingale but Juliet needs some convincing.
James is left blindsided when Courtney Donovan asks if he's going to Jesse's funeral. He later tells Grace that he doesn't think he'll be able to hold it together.
James is left feeling responsible for Jesse's death after he discovered who really shot Mercedes just hours before he passed away.
The following day, James wakes up – after taking sleeping pills because he's struggling with the guilt over Jesse's death – and tells Grace he has no intention of going to the funeral.
Grace forces him to go and attend the funeral, Mercedes tells James she knows his secret. James is left panicking that she knows he shot her.
At the wake, Courtney makes a speech and starts blaming herself for what happened however she's silenced by James who blurts out that she needs to know the truth.
James prepares to confess that he's responsible for her husband's death… However after escaping The Dog he's tricked into having dinner with John Paul and Mercy.
He's then floored when he receives an anonymous note saying, 'I know you shot Mercedes'.
James begins to study the letter he received – determined to find out who is responsible. He's later left panicking when Grace reveals she's also received a letter.
Liam Donovan jumps to the conclusion that Sylver McQueen or John Paul might be responsible because they could have picked something up in 'pillow talk'.
He then tells the pair to find out… At the end of the week James asks John Paul if they could give their relationship another try.
John Paul agrees and the pair kiss… Meanwhile Liam and his heavies trash The Dog in front of a scared Mercedes.
Maxine Minniver is giddy with excitement about her potential new clients at the re-launch of the Donovan's salon.
She's pleased that she'll be able to repay Liam in a legitimate way but he then piles on the guilt when he brings up Jesse's funeral – he still blames her for his brother's death.
Jordan flirts with Leela and manages to catch Peri's eye… Elsewhere Sid wants him and Juliet to be an exciting couple but she's furious when he suggests that she's boring.
Jordan then offers to help Sid out and asks him to hide some drugs at school. However the teenager is unaware that Nancy Osborne has arranged for PC George Kiss to have a look throughout everyone's lockers at school…
Jordan later asks Juliet to work for him and after she agrees, Sid is left worried for her safety.
Meanwhile after Marnie asks Edward to play the cello at Salon De Thé, he's left distracted by how optimistic his son is following a therapy session.
Mercedes and Tony reunite and she gives him some advice on how to move things on with Diane. He then decides to ask his wife out on a date – hoping it'll help their relationship.
However as Tony prepares for the perfect date night, Edward simmers and plots to ruin everything.
Romeo and Celeste continue their affair but when Toby Faroe arrives home, the teenager is forced to hide again.
Romeo is left unnerved when Tony appears to know all about him and Celeste… Later when Tom Cunningham spots his friend kissing Celeste, he warns Romeo to stop for his own safety. However Romeo struggles to resist Celeste.

The Cunningham family prepare for the opening of the Grande Bazaar but as Cindy Cunningham cuts the ribbon, Brooke Hathaway goes into labour.
The teenager then begins to panic when nothing goes according to plan... Elsewhere Ollie Morgan is over the moon when he assumes his dad Luke will help him raise the baby.
He's unaware of his dad's illness and prepares to tell Brooke the news - but how will she react?
Meanwhile Yasmine Maalik receives a new hearing aid, Mercedes and Goldie McQueen return from Spain and Kyle Kelly wants another baby - but how will Nancy react?
