The teaser clip of Ed Sheeran's appearance in The Simpsons has landed

The first clip of the UK's favourite Ed Sheeran in The Simpsons has been released and it looks amazing! In the brief trailer, the 'Shape Of You' singer plays the role of Brendan, Lisa Simpson's latest love interest.

Ed, who dominated the music charts in 2017, first announced his appearance back in July when he commented, 'This year continues to be equally surreal and amazing. Watch out for this one, me and Lisa have a whole thing going on'.

He is evidently a massive fan of The Simpsons like the rest of us, the singer even has a tattoo of Blinky, the show's three-eyed fish.

"We had a perfect part for him," executive producer Al Jean said in an interview "So we said, 'Oh, great, we'll have him do this!' And we recorded him over the phone from England."

The featured episode ‘Haw-Haw Land’ will air Sunday 7th January.

Meanwhile Ed delighted fans by posting a number of photos to his Instagram account over the festive period.

After bagging Christmas Number 1 with his 'Perfect' duet with Beyoncé , Ed shared a selfie in front of his Christmas tree with the caption, 'Perfect is Christmas number one ! Merry Christmas everyone, have a wonderful holiday with your families, see you in the new year x'

The singer then shared a playful snap as he celebrated the New Year. He wrote, 'Happy new year everyone x'.

After pretty much winning 2017, Ed is showing no signs of slowing down and is set to embark on a massive stadium tour later this year.

The 'River' singer will play dates across the UK in Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, London and Cardiff.

We can't wait to see what else he has in store for 2018!
