Coronation Street reveals shock return of a popular character
We can't wait!

Coronation Street have revealed that a popular character will be returning the soap in December after previously trading in the cobbles for Devon.
In an interview with the Radio Times, Coronation Street producer Kate Oates confirmed that Carla Connor will be returning to the street at Christmas.
Alison King, who played Carla since 2006, left the street last year after her on-screen character was involved in a love square with Peter, Nick and Leanne. Drama on the street also saw Carla having a disastrous wedding to Nick, after a night of passion with Robert; so we can expect plenty of drama from the return of the feisty, former factory owner.
According to Kate, Carla will be returning "to break new ground. I didn’t want to put her on that familiar cycle of self-destruction, recovery, followed by more self-destruction."
Kate continued, "What we’ll have instead are these two strong Connor women – Carla and Michelle – on opposing sides and in conflict for a change. It’ll be a refreshing dynamic for us to see."
We can't wait for her return! Check out some of Carla's best moments below:
During the interview Kate also talked about how the popular soap will be moving to six episodes a week from the autumn, more great news for Corrie fans!
Coronation Street continues on ITV.
