Ben Shephard is taking a break from Good Morning Britain
He's been on the show for 6 years!
He's one of the most popular breakfast TV presenters around, filling in for regular host Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain in recent weeks, but now it's been confirmed that Ben Shephard will be taking a break from the award-winning news show.
On Wednesday's (5th August) episode, Ben's co-host Kate Garraway left viewers gutted when she confirmed Ben would be taking a break from the show so he can focus on ITV quiz show Tipping Point.
Kate said, "This is Ben's last day," before saying to her co-host, "You're having a bit of time off, aren't you?"
Revealing he's taking a break to film new episodes of Tipping Point, Ben told viewers, "We're about to hit peak Tipping Point! Tipping Point series 11 and we're all back in the studio, back socially distanced.
"I think I might do it with Andi Peters because he's doing Lorraine in a couple of weeks. But the set's had to change in order to get everybody up and running.
"I'm not going to be here but I'm going to be working, Kate Garraway! I know you think I've got my feet up and trotters up down in the south of France!"
Despite usually hosting the show on Thursdays and Fridays, Ben has been filling in five days per week for regular hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, who are currently having time off for the summer holidays.
Ben first joined the Good Morning Britain team back in April 2014, following stints on both GMTV and Daybreak. The popular presenter hosted the show every Thursday and Friday alongside either Kate Garraway or Susanna Reid.
Meanwhile, Tipping Point fans will be over the moon to learn the series has been renewed for an 11th series, with filming due to start as early as next week.
Tipping Point first hit our TV screens back in 2012, with a celebrity version called Tipping Point: Lucky Stars now also airing on ITV.
