will.i.am and Britney Hold Off 50 Cent

As they take this week's chart crown

Published 21st Jan 2013

will.i.am and Britney Spears have spent a second week at number one with their pumping dance anthem ‘Scream and Shout’.

50 Cent’s collaboration with Eminem and Maroon 5’s Adam Lavine, ‘My Life’, looked a dead cert for the top spot in the midweeks but strong sales at the end of the week saw Britney and will.i.am surprisingly overtake.

Justin Timberlake charted at number three with his Jay-Z guesting ‘Suit and Tie’ - the former *N Sync first release in over three years.

Taylor Swift’s ‘I Knew Your Were Trouble’ and Rihanna ft Mikky Ekko’s ‘Stay’ made up the rest of the top five.

Over on the album chart the Les Miserables movie soundtrack is at number one while almost a year after its release Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version of Events’ is holding firm at two.

Jake Bugg’s self-titled debut, Calvin Harris’s ’18 Months’ and Everything Everything’s second album made up the rest of the top five.
