Sam Ryder's debut album 'There's Nothing But Space, Man!' goes Gold
It's been a huge hit with fans!
Sam Ryder has really captured the hearts of the UK, finishing second in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, and going on to release many successful follow-up songs and a Gold album. He thrilled fans with the announcement of his debut album called 'There's Nothing But Space, Man!' in 2022. It includes his Eurovision entry 'Space Man', along with hits 'Somebody', and David Guetta and 'Sigala's, 'Living Without You'.
Back in 2022, Sam had been counting down the days and hours to his album's release on his Instagram stories and once it had come out, he posted a compilation video of himself singing and some incredible moments from his career so far. He wrote: 'BIIIG NEWS! MY DEBUT ALBUM ‘THERE’S NOTHING BUT SPACE, MAN!’ IS OUT NOW 🤯. Tons of love to everyone who has already picked up a copy! You’re the reason that this whole thing is possible and I’ll never forget that your encouragement, kindness & support is what got us here today 💛 Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻'. (sic)
Speaking about his album before it came out, Sam previously said: "This year for myself and our team has been one filled with so many blessings, opportunities and dreams coming to fruition.
"To create a body of work throughout this time representing aspects of our journey feels like the highest honour and a beautiful way to redirect the flow of energy back to the people who are making this whirlwind possible – you."
The album was certified Gold in October 2024.
Watch Sam talk about working on 'Without You':
The album's release followed on from the success of Sam's song 'Somebody', which he wrote on the morning of the BRIT Awards. In an interview, he told us: "The spirits were high and we just wrote this song, and I wish we could release like a stem of the song of the backing vocals, because it's just us really shouting our heads off. It's nonsense, and it's still in the record."
Sam's album shares the name of his 2023 tour 'There's Nothing But Space, Man!'. The tour followed several live performances in the summer of 2022, including appearing at the Jubilee Celebrations over the long weekend in June.
