Rita Ora Lands Role In 50 Shades Of Grey Movie
The pop singer will play Mia, the sister of billionaire Christian Grey
Rita Ora has landed a role in the film adaptation of the record-breaking erotic novel 50 Shades Of Grey.
The 23-year-old ‘How We Do (Party)’ singer will play Mia, the younger sister of the billionaire lead character Christian Grey, played by Irish actor Jamie Dornan.
!In a statement on Rita’s official website, her management wrote: “It's official! Rita's been cast in Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. She will appear alongside Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing.”
Filming started on the movie in Vancouver, Canada this autumn and the eagerly anticipated movie is tentatively set to hit cinema screens in 2015.
Fifty Shades of Grey isn’t Rita’s first foray into the acting world. After training at the Silvia Young Acting School as a youngster, she appeared in the Alan Davies ITV drama series The Brief in 2004.
She went on to appear in Spivs and 90210 and had a brief role in the action movie Fast & Furious 6 earlier this year.
The novels in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, written by British author E L James, have collectively sold over 70million copies across the globe including 35million in the United States alone.
