LISTEN: Avicii teases new collaboration with Rita Ora
You won't have to wait long
Last updated 7th Aug 2017
After announcing his retirement last year Avicii is back and we won't have to wait long for his new music. The Swedish DJ has been teasing some collaborations recently and we can't wait to hear them in full.
Over the past year the 27-year-old has been having a break, travelling the world and taking some much needed time out, however when he said he would 'never let go of music' he meant it.
Since the beginning of August Avicii, real name Tim Berling, has been teasing three new tracks called 'Friend of Mine', 'You Be Love' and 'Lonely Together'. Although only 20 seconds of each track has been released it has the distinctive Avicii sound and fans of the DJ will not be disappointed.
Each of the three tracks features vocals from other singers, with 'Lonely Together' featuring British singer Rita Ora, whose currently single 'Your Song' can be heard on Tay FM.
As well as teasing his new tracks the DJ has announced a brand new EP will be dropping on the 10th August called 'Avīci'. Avīci (spelt with one 'i' at the end) is the lowest level of hell in Buddhism and thought to be the idea behind Tim Berling's stage name.
Before his 'retirement' last year Avicii had a host of top 10 hits including 'Levels', 'Wake Me Up' and Hey Brother'. He was a popular DJ on the festival circuit, but decided to retire from touring after suffering from a number of health problems. In 2014 he had his gall bladder and appendix and then experienced anxiety issues relating to his live performances.
Despite his problems Avicii always said he would continue to make music.
