Jessie J has quit her role as a judge on BBC talent show The Voice.

The 25-year-old ‘Price Tag’ singer says she has left the show after two seasons to focus on promoting and touring her second studio album.

Jessie wrote on Twitter:

"I've absolutely loved my time on The Voice, and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show.

“However, I can't wait to promote my new record around the world and that has to take priority.

“I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three, showing my support in every way I can, and really hope that in some way that I can be part of the show."

In a statement, BBC controller of entertainment commissioning, Mark Linsey, said: "We're so sorry to see Jessie go as she's been an exceptional coach on - and advocate for - The Voice, but we totally support her decision to leave due to touring commitments overseas.

"We very much hope that Jessie will remain part of the show and come back and perform for us next series.

"In the meantime, we will now start the search for a new coach."

Jessie judged alongside will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue on the first two seasons of The Voice.

It’s currently unclear when Jessie’s follow-up to her 1.5million selling debut ‘Who You Are’ will be released.

Yesterday Jessie rubbished media reports that her second album will be called ‘Gold’.

She joked to her 6.5million followers: "family fortunes noise eggh egggghhhhhh* #fail #tryagain #keepguessing Muhahahaha."
