James Arthur 'Overwhelmed' At Winning The X Factor
Full details of the winners single emerge
James Arthur says he is “overwhelmed” after storming to victory in The X Factor final last night.
Singing a version of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ and his choice of winners single, Shontelle’s ‘Impossible’, the 24-year-old singer from Saltburn-by-the-Sea triumphed ahead of Jahmene Douglas in Manchester.
Commenting on the victory, James said: "I am absolutely overwhelmed to have won The X Factor. I am lost for words.
“To have been be able to perform my winner's single was just insane. I love the song and am so glad that proceeds of the single will be going to such a great cause."
Available to download right now and on CD from Wednesday, profits from sales of ‘Impossible’ go the charity Together For Short Lives, which helps children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.
X Factor supremo Simon Cowell said in a statement: "Together for Short Lives is such an inspiring and important charity for so many kids and their families who really need help and support.
“I'm delighted that The X Factor's winner single sales will go directly to helping them."
