Ella Henderson revealed some of her collabs came about in the most unusual way
She collabed with her best friend's husband
Ella Henderson rose to fame eight years ago taking part in The X Factor, but since then she's gone on to have several fantastic collabs, including 'This Is Real' with Jax Jones, 'Glitterball' with Sigma, and 'We Got Love' with Sigala, to name just a few.
Now, the singer who has just released her new song 'Dream On Me' with Roger Sanchez, joined Boogie and Arlene on Tay FM to talk about how some of her biggest collabs have come about.
Admitting that they've all come about in different ways, the 'Ghost' singer revealed that her song with Jax Jones was actually written just after she had finished on The X Factor.
Unbelievably, Ella used to be baby sat by Jax's wife! The singer went on to reveal that she and Jax's wife are now best friends, and it was great to work with a friend. The song, although it was written many years ago, was only released last year and has been very successful.
"We wrote 'Real' way back," Ella explained, continuing, "And when he came to doing his 'Snacks' album he said I want to involve it. He tried some amazing artists on it, but coming to the end he's just like, 'I don't want to it with anyone else, I want to do it with you', so it ended up being an album track, then it did quite well on streaming, and then he released it as a single.
"That was not planned, but kind of amazing. He's like a really good mate and releasing a song with one of your mates is fun."
Ella went on to reveal that it was very different with the Sigala tune that she featured on, explaining that she was approached by him, in a "typical industry way".
Whereas, the Nathan Dawe tune was written by Ella, who wrote it as a ballad on a piano. According to the singer she didn't even know that it has been sent to Nathan!
During the interview, Ella also told how she loved the "cool process" of working on her most recent song, 'Dream On Me', teaming up with MNEK. The song features a sample from Roger Sanchez, and as Ella revealed, he's a fan and was very happy about her sampling his track.

Martin Solveig, RAYE and Jax Jones 'Tequila'
'Tequila' came from Jax Jones teaming up with Martin Solveig and RAYE in February 2020. They even recorded an uncut version of the music video which included a whole section in Spanish.
RAYE and Regard 'Secrets'
RAYE and Regard teamed up for 'Secrets' in April 2020. The song is now a chilled pop banger, but RAYE told us how it was originally a slow R&B song and Regard transformed it.
Sam Smith and Demi Lovato 'I'm Ready'
Sam Smith and Demi Lovato teamed up for 'I'm Ready' in April 2020. The song was co-written by both singers and a group of songwriters, it reached Number 20 in the UK.
Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber 'Stuck With U'
Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber released their charity song 'Stuck With U' in May 2020. The pair encouraged their fans to upload videos of themselves dancing to the song while they were in lockdown.
Lennon Stella and Charlie Puth 'Summer Feeling'
For the ultimate summer vibes, Lennon Stella and Charlie Puth released their hit 'Summer Feeling' in May 2020, from Scoob! The Album.
SZA and Justin Timberlake 'The Other Side'
SZA and Justin Timberlake released 'The Other Side' which was featured on the soundtrack for Trolls World Tour. The film had limited release due to the Coronavirus outbreak and instead was released on Blu-ray and DVD in June 2020.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande - 'Rain On Me'
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande teamed up for the super successful 'Rain On Me' in June 2020. The song features on Lady Gaga's latest album 'Chromatica' which has become the fastest selling album of the year so far.

Calvin Harris and The Weeknd released their collab 'Over Now' on 28th August. The music video is a CGI animated video featuring a disco ball-style recreation of The Weeknd in various futuristic locations.
