Blur announce BST comeback gig and new album 'The Magic Whip'
The band's last official release was 2003's 'Think Tank'
Blur will headline British Summer Time Hyde Park, ahead of releasing their first album as a full collective in 16 years.
The legendary British band consisting of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree, will hit the stage in London on 20thJune. Other BST headliners include Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding and John Newman.
Meanwhile, they have also revealed the name of their forthcoming LP ‘The Magic Whip’ – their first album as a four-piece since 1999.
The band revealed the artwork through its Twitter page, posting the image along with the caption: "#TheMagicWhip
'The Magic Whip' will consist of 12 songs.
Rumours of a big announcement began today (19th February) after the image above began circulating the internet.
Some fans later translated the Chinese lettering to read ‘Blur Magic Whip.’
Blur first formed in 1988 in London before releasing their first album ‘Leisure’ three years later. They quickly became one of the most notable bands in the Britpop era.
