Adele Triumphs At The Oscars
She wins Best Original Song for ‘Skyfall’
Adele triumphed at The Oscars in Los Angeles last night winning Best Original Song for ‘Skyfall’.
The first Bond theme ever to win an Oscar, Adele won the coveted award alongside the song’s co-writer and producer Paul Epworth.
Accepting the award in front of the A-List crowd, a tearful Adele thanked her songwriting partner "believing in me all the time, and my man (husband Simon Konecki), I love you baby".
The 24-year-old also wowed the Dolby Theatre audience and the hundreds of millions watching across the globe with a powerful rendition of the track backed by a full orchestra.
In a pre-Oscars interview Adele and Epworth revealed they wrote the first draft of the song in just ten minutes.
Skyfall, the movie, also triumphed in the Best Sound Mixing category on the night.
The double victory marked the first time a James Bond movie won an Oscar in an astonishing 47 years.
