WATCH: Wonder Woman cast speak about how important a female superhero is
Girl Power!
Last week Wonder Woman hit big screens across the country and the buzz around this new superhero film is still in the air.
Wonder Woman is based on the popular comic books and stars Israeli actress Gal Gadot, known for playing Gisele Yashar in The Fast and the Furious film series.
This is the first time the female superhero has ever made it to the big screen in a solo film, having starred in TV films in 1974 and 2009.
The film is about the origins of Wonder Woman who was called 'Diana, princess of the Amazons' and was trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Fighting a war to end all wars, Diana discovers her full power and her true destiny.
We caught up with stars of the film Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Robin Wright to talk about their experiences of working on the exciting new superhero film.
Although the film is set in 1918, speaking to our Entertainment Team, Gal Gadot said she believes "all of Wonder Woman's values are really relevant," explaining she is all about "love and compassion and truth and justice".
Gal's co-star Chris Pine, plays Diana's love interest Steve Trevor and explained that he isn't bothered about being a man playing a supporting role to a woman because, "a role's a role".
He continued, "There are men in the world and women in the world, it will be nice for young girls and boys to see an image of something else, besides a man in a cape," referring to male superheroes such as Batman and Superman.
Wonder Woman is the first female superhero to be given the 'big screen treatment' in the modern superhero era and according to Warner Bros 'is the perfect movie to bring us into summer'.
