The film is based on detective book 'A Slight Trick Of The Mind' by Mitch Collins
The first trailer for ‘Mr Holmes’, a new film starring Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes, has been released.
The upcoming movie is based on Mitch Cullins’ 2005 detective novel ‘A Slight Trick Of The Mind’ and stars Ian McKellen as a 93-year-old Sherlock Holmes, struggling to enjoy his retirement.
Set in 1947, the famous sleuth has retired to a remote Sussex farmhouse in an attempt to live his life in anonymity. However, frustrated with his mis-representations in Watson’s best-selling novels, he turns his attentions to an unsolved case.

The Bill Condon-directed film stars Laura Linney as housekeeper Mrs Munro, and also includes Frances de la Tour and Milo Parker.
Mr Holmes will be released in UK cinemas on 19th June 2015.
