WATCH: Elton John and Lady Gaga stop traffic in West Hollywood

They performed at a pop-up gig.

The Elton John stopped traffic in California last weekend performing at a pop-up concert where he brought out Lady Gaga as a special guest.

Performing a whole host of hits including 'Rocket Man' and 'Saturday' Elton John held the concert to thank the city of West Hollywood for supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation and its Academy Awards Viewing Party over many years.

Addressing the gathered crowd the 'Tiny Dancer' singer said, "We are profoundly grateful for their generous support, so I wanted to do something special just for them by giving our West Hollywood fans and supporters a surprise concert. Thank you, West Hollywood!"

During the event he performed back to back hits including a special version of 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' bringing out Lady Gaga much to the crowd's delight.

Fans around the world were able to watch the free 60-minute event online through AOL.com

Last month Elton John performed another pop-up gig on a smaller scale at St Pancras Station in London where he had donated a piano for the public to use.
