WATCH: Ben Foster on playing Lance Armstrong in The Program
He was the greatest cyclist in the world - but he was a cheat.
Ben Foster wants us to question our opinions on Lance Armstrong.
He plays the cyclist in 'The Program' a film which explores Lance and his team's heavy use of doping while taking part in the Tour de France.
Lance denied doing it for years before eventually admitting to it in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2013. The year before Armstrong had been stripped of his 7 Tour de France wins and banned from competiting in any sport sanctioned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
But Lance has also done a lot for charity, setting up The Lance Armstrong Foundation, now called the Livestrong Foundation, after his own cancer diagnosis (he had testicular cancer). Since it's incpetion $500 million has been raised with the money going towards Cancer Research.
And it's this work, along with the belief that many of the other cyclists Lance competed against were also doping, that leaves many with a question mark over what we should think of Lance, including the actor who played him Ben Foster.
