Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's cause of death has been revealed

The cause of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's death has been revealed in a statement from her family and tweets by her sister.
The statement reads, 'Tara died peacefully in her sleep due to a perforated ulcer and peritonitis.'
It went on to say that there was 'no retreat to a "dark place" as some have disappointingly sought to suggest.'
Earlier today Tara's sister, author Santa Montefiore, also posted a number of tweets saying she was 'touched by the warm response to Tara's death'.
Santa went on to say that Tara was in high spirits in the days before she died and had even written a 'moving new song'.
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was found dead at her home in South Kensington, London last week aged just 45.
The socialite rose to fame in the 1990s as an It girl and a columnist for a national newspaper.
In 2002 she appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! finishing as a runner up. She also presented the spin-off show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here! Now three times between 2003 and 2005.
Her private funeral will take place on the 27th February.
