Rihanna shares adorable throwback photo to celebrate her 30th birthday

Pop superstar Rihanna celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday (20th February). Whilst a number of celebrities wished the 'Wild Thoughts' singer a Happy Birthday it's the adorable throwback photo the singer shared that has got everyone talking.

Taking to Instagram yesterday the singer paid tribute to her mum Monica Fenty saying, '10958 days ago @monica_fenty became a mother for the first time to her only daughter!'

The caption continued, 'Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine! I love you mom! Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are!

I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest! Thank you! #💕'. sic

The caption accompanied two photos of the star, one when she was just a few years old and another more recent one. Check out the super cute photo below!

In the adorable throwback photo she can be seen sitting on a bed wearing a cute little white top, with a red bow on it and matching red cropped trousers.

Rihanna's mum also celebrated her daughter's birthday by posting her own throwback photo of the singer. Monica Fenty caption the photo, 'Happy 30th. God's blessings to my 1st born. The sweetest , most humble person I know , and most loving daughter ever. Lots of love back to you on your special day.🌷'

She then followed up the throwback photo with a hilarious video of Rihanna making a funny face which is then distorted using a filter. Rihanna and her mum can be heard laughing at the result.

As well as thousands of fans wishing the singer a 'Happy Birthday', messages also came in from celebrities, including Ellen DeGeneres who said, 'Happy birthday, @Rihanna! I hope it shines bright like a diamond and makes you feel like you’re the only girl in the world. Go on and take a bow.' sic

Pop star Bruno Mars also tweeted Rihanna saying, 'I'm playing her whole album in her honor'. sic

And TV presenter Ryan Seacrest also wished the singer a 'Happy Birthday' calling her an 'icon'.

Rihanna reportedly celebrated her birthday last night at a high end New York restaurant. She was joined by members of her family, close friends and some celebrities, including singer Toni Braxton and reality TV star Paris Hilton.
