Who did Ricky Gervais insult at this year's Golden Globes?
The comedian returned for a fourth year to host the event.
It’s the fourth time Ricky Gervais has hosted the Golden Globes ceremony but there were still a few shocks and surprises from the comedian.
The actor, who's known for making digs at the star-studded audience, first greeted the crowd with "Shut up, you disgusting, pill-popping deviant scum!"
Referring to the news that actor Sean Penn met with a Mexican drug lord, the British host added "I'm going to do this monologue and then go into hiding. Not even Sean Penn will find me” which was met with an applause.
Then he made fun of Caitlyn Jenner, Kris Kardashians' ex, who publicly went through a gender change and also was involved in a deadly car crash last year.
Gervais said: "What a year she's had. She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes.
"She didn't do a lot for women drivers, but you can't have everything, can you?"

Also on his list was Donald Trump, who’s hoping to be the next American president and who's also repeatedly criticised immigrants.
When two Hispanic stars came on stage to present an award the comedian joked:
"Eva Longoria and America Ferrera aren't just beautiful, talented actresses. They are also two people who your future president, Donald Trump, can't wait to deport."
Many other stars were also on the end of Gervais’ jibes, including Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Lawrence.
This year's winners included Sam Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lawrence.
