Olly Murs admits he thought he'd be sacked over X Factor mistake
Caused him to break his phone
Olly Murs has revealed that he thought he'd be sacked after announcing the results too early on The X Factor.
On the show Olly said Monica Michael would go home - before he got the envelope with the results in.
On Twitter former host Dermot O' Leary was quick to reassure the star but he admitted he was 'beating himself up' about it.
Speaking on Alan Carr's Chatty Man the singer said "I pulled a face as if to say, 'I think I am not going to come back next week… P45.'"
"As I was a contestant I know how tense it is. If that had happened to me I probably would have chinned Dermot."
He said it was made worse when he checked Twitter after the incident.
"I went on Twitter for two seconds and threw my phone. I got a massive crack. But you can't listen to that rubbish."
It looks like it'll all be okay though as boss Simon Cowell said the way the singer handled it was 'great' and told the Daily Mirror that "he's got a massive future ahead of him, 100% he's still got my support".
Only recently co-host Caroline Flack was the target of people on Twitter who attacked her weight on the show.
But she quickly put them in their place.
Olly's single 'Kiss Me' is out now.
