The Notebook to be turned into a TV show
The hit movie featured Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
Considered one of the most romantic movies of all time, The Notebook, featuring a young Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, is being turned into a TV show.
Originally based on the bestselling 1996 novel by Nicholas Sparks, the 2004 film ultimately began the stellar careers of Gosling and McAdams. Now The CW Television Network will be hoping to emulate the success of the silver-screen romantic sensation after announcing they are to develop a new television series.
The series will fill in extra details on what happens in the lives of lovers Noah and Allie after they reunite following the Second World War.
During a Television Critics Association panel, CW President Mark Pedowitz said "The Notebook is a very, very well-received book and motion picture. It is going to be set after World War II."
While it is yet to be officially green-lit, Nicholas Sparks has already signed up to the project as an Executive Producer.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the official logline says: 'This series will follow the romantic joruney of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.'
There have been no announcements yet regarding actors involved in the project, although the appearance of Hollywood megastars Gosling and McAdams is unlikely.
