Just like the rest of the country last night, Line of Duty star Martin Compston celebrated in style after the Tartan Army beat Serbia 5-4 on penalties to qualify for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championships, our first major tournament in 23 years!

Martin, who plays the role of DS Steve Arnott in the hit BBC show, watched the game alongside his co-stars Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure as the cast continue to film scenes for series six.

But luckily for Scottish born and bred Martin, filming took a break so he was able to witness the heroics of David Marshall and co on Thursday night.

Posting a hilarious video of himself celebrating along with a bottle of bubbly and Irish actor Adrian, Martin was quick to express his excitement and joy, going wild whilst belting out lyrics to 'Flower of Scotland'.

We must apologise for Martin's language used in the caption of the video, but let's be honest, he had every right to be a wee bit excited! 🙈

Martin's followers were quick to comment on his video, expressing their own joy at Scotland's amazing victory.

One fan wrote, 'And breath!!!!! Well done Scotland', with another writing, 'Haha brilliant Martin'. A third then wrote, 'Well in wee man'.

Check out which other TV shows we can't wait for the return of:

After Ryan Christie's wonderful goal to put us 1-0 up in the 52nd minute, it looked like the boys were going to hold on in normal time, before Real Madrid player Luka Jovic headed in the equaliser in the 90th minute.

Despite Serbia having more of the chances in extra time, Steve Clarke's men held on and forced the tense game to pens, with all five of our takers finding the back of the net.

The pressure was then put on Fulham F.C. striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who had to score to force the shoot-out to sudden death. But as you all know, the legend that is David Marshall dived to his left to pull off a brilliant save to secure our place at the 2020 Euros!
